This project began the first time I heard Timorese people sing ; something deeply honest and heartfelt that felt instantly magical.
The original songs were purely vocal, so we created an instrumental approach that avoided folk and pop clichés: no guitar chords, no drums. Instead, we used local percussion like babadok and tambor. Guitarist Flady Nexis built riffs inspired by the traditional tebe tebe rhythm.
As a producer, I let the artists lead. These are their songs—I simply added a subtle touch of saxophone, helping shape a sound that remains deeply and authentically Timorese.

CLN draws us into its universe through a subtle blend of jazz, rock, and poetry.
The video, projected onto different surfaces, creates a fully immersive experience for the audience.
A powerful voice, deeply inhabited lyrics, a hypnotic music with dark and violent tones, sometimes melancholic and sometimes radiant,
video projections imbued with mysticism and striking imagery.
Dedicated to live performance, the CLN collective finds its strength in the immediacy of the stage.
Mutant, electric, urban.
